Michael Fishman is a strategic infrastructure specialist for Stantec. Previously he was an urban design and strategic infrastructure specialist for Halcrow, an international consultancy. Since 1989, Michael has been working with environmental artist Michael Singer on infrastructure projects in the U.S. and abroad. In 1995, Michael helped start a 60-person traffic and transportation infrastructure consulting firm in Lower Manhattan. Clients ranged from Consolidated Edison of New York and The Battery Park City Authority to Madison Square Garden, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Mayor of Windsor, Ontario.

He earned his Masters Degree in Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he focused on how cities prone to crisis prepare and repair their infrastructure systems. Following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Michael began his focus on geographies planning for and undergoing natural disaster recovery. His planning and rebuilding experiences include Dade County Florida, the Mississippi River flood zones, and Lower Manhattan post 9/11.
